The young woman on the screen is not the slightly paranoid, world-weary Toshiko who got her ass handed to her by the Barge for months on end and lost much of her faith in Torchwood; this is the amnesiac Toshiko who believes she just died in defence of humanity and is more or less okay with that. There's a smile on her face, but it's a little conflicted - there's sadness and some embarrassment in there as well.]

Hello, everyone. It seems I came at a bad time, so if I could make my introductions a bit belatedly: I'm Toshiko Sato of Cardiff, Wales, 2008. The Admiral has asked me here to serve as a Warden and I intend to do the best I can for as long as I'm here.

[A short pause.] It's...come to my attention that there was previously another Warden here with my identity. I...am not her. If it would be too strange for anyone she knew well to speak to me, then...I won't hold a grudge. [She gives a tight, awkward smile.] Although it's certainly not a point of social etiquette I've ever had to address before.

I also understand that some parts of the ship need crew members to help with maintenance. I'm a computer technician and technical engineer by trade, so if there's any relevant work then I'd appreciate being pointed in that direction.

[Filtered to anyone who she ran into during the flood, minus Hoffman, because he was....not helpful. :c ]

Thank you for helping me - my other self - during the flood. It was very kind, and even though it wasn't 'me' and may not have been 'you' either, I appreciate it.

I hadn't met him before coming here, but I'd read his file. Yes, I'm a Time Lord. More of a Time Lord than the Doctor is.

The Doctor is a renegade, a criminal to my people. He's not a proper Time Lord.

Is 'Time Lord' a species or a cultural designation?

[Because she's always assumed the former but you're making it sound like the latter.]

The species designation is Gallifreyan. We were Gallifreyans before we were Time Lords.

So 'fly around space-time and save the world when you feel like it' isn't your people's stock in trade. I know it's reductive to ask what you 'do', as if I could sum up what humans 'do' in one sentence, but...I suppose I'm asking, if the Doctor is considered a rebel then what is he rebelling against?

One of our highest laws is that we only observe the universe, and never interfere in the affairs of other races. [Except sometimes when they do, while claiming that they don't. That's precisely what the CIA is for.]

The Doctor...interferes. Quite a lot and quite illegally. He's been punished for it before.
