[He looks up and around, eyes surveying the familiar aspects of the hub. The white stone of the medical pit.]

Well, they do say you never really leave Torchwood.

[His voice is dark, still, but takes on a little more of a morose tone.]

Look, ah, Tosh. I'm sure you've thought of it, but there isn't anything we can do to get you out of there, is there?

[And an attempt at a sort of joke, though his expression looks a little pained:] There could be worse things than having two of you around.

[Her smile looks pained as she shakes her head.]

I wish there was, but...not right now. It'll be alright. I'm managing.

[A weak, stiff nod. He knows he's rubbish at being comforting, or even ever saying the right thing when it comes to Tosh.. Ever.

So he'll move onto an easier topic. A lighter one.]

Yeah. So. Meet any interesting aliens?

Dozens. Can't move for them.

[It's flippant because her mind's already moved on. There's a pause, and she looks away.]

Owen, I need to ask you something.

[That's good for Tosh. He knows how obsessed she was with the alien cultures, languages. Meeting some that aren't trying to con her and the team into dying is probably refreshing for her.

The brief smirk disappears as quickly as it came.]

What's that?

It's about...

[She pauses, then abruptly switches to audio, because she doesn't want to have to say this thinking he's watching her say it.]

What Suzie did. Everything she did.

Could you ever forgive her for that? For being, just - broken by the job she was doing? For hurting innocent people because she didn't know when to just stop?

[That's an odd question, Tosh. His brow furrows, and he leans forward a little. Suzie's an interesting topic. And he's pretty sure she isn't really talking about just Suzie.

But Owen's harshly honest even when he tries to be polite.]

Ah.

If she walked through that door again, I'd shoot her.

I don't have to forgive her, Tosh. She didn't care what we thought. I didn't care what she thought. And now it's done.

[But that was Suzie.]

[She just makes a noise, breathless and hurt like she's been punched, and kills the connection and throws her communicator away from her.

Maybe there's no way of reestablishing the link, even if she tried. Maybe it's the last time she'll ever speak to him, ever again. It doesn't matter. She's got her answer.

It's done.]

[He's more than a little confused at that noise, even more confused when it seems she's disconnected.

His eyes widen and he immediately starts to try and get her back. He might be panicking a little.]

Tosh.
